Lance Rosen is the Big Boy of Big Boy BBQ, the pioneer of BBQ in Melbourne. Lance, a classically trained chef, opened the first Big Boy BBQ store in 2010 after falling in love with BBQ in the USA. Big Boy BBQ has three stores in Melbourne, smoke all their meats on smokers imported from the USa and cook exclusively on hickory wood. All their sauces and sides are made from scratch in their smoke-house. Lance has cooked with some of the pitmaster greats includingMyron Mixon, Tuffy Stone, Harry Soo, Fast Eddy Maurin, David Bouska and Paul Kirk. He has a great love of BBQ and is always happy to share his knowledge and have a chat. His book, Temples of BBQ won the title of Best BBQ cookbook in the world 2015 at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards. Lance is a qualified BBQ judge and has judged in the USA and he loves to compete in the sport of BBQ.
